2009 begins...

Vacation is over and 2009 begins for me tomorrow, Monday, January 5th. That is the day I go back to my place of employment to resume my career of growing Tom Ryan's empire.

Like most, I am refraining from the cliche' New Year Resolution blog. Like all the self help mavens say, the start of January shouldn't be the only time you make the decision to change your life. Therefore, I am simply going with the resolve to do all the things I set out to conquer just a little bit better. Then take it from there.

There is no resolution out there that I haven't already told myself on a daily basis that I need to improve upon. I will continue my quest to eat more fruits and vegetables and less processed foods and sugars. I will try to hit the gym more often and the Wii Fit. I will continue working on completing all those projects that I have started. I will read more books. I will continue to try new things and visit new places and have new experiences. I will work at becoming a better manager to those I supervise at work. Most importantly, I will continue to do those things that make ME happy.

I will keep up with my blog, writing posts with a little more meaning and throwing in some fun and guily pleasures at times. I will continue to capture memories with my horrific photography skills along with working to improve those skills.

Finally, I will stop worrying about what other's think, those who truly love me will understand. I will not takes things so personally or seriously. Those who mean the most to me won't hurt my feelings intentially they are simply helping. Those who do are not worth the stress or heartache.

2009 isn't necessarily a better year, for now it is simply a new year. Each year is what you make of it. 2008 was a good year because I made it that way. 2009 is just another adventure.
