Long Weekend Away

This past weekend I traveled back to Williamsville for the 2nd time this year (and the 2nd time since moving away). For Christmas we gave the boys, Mitch, Mark and Mister, tickets to the Patriots/Bills game so we traveled up the Thruway and stayed with the in-laws for 3 nights. The weather was wacky as usual, unseasonably warm temps the first 3 days and 50 mile an hour winds together with some rain and sleet and then heavy LES in Syracuse on the way home.

With 14 some odd hours in the truck, I was able to catch up on my magazine reading...a couple Marie Claires, a couple Glamours, a couple Vogues... I'm all caught up on Anne Hathaway, Jessica Simpson, Nicole Kidman, Jen Anistan and Brit. I read some articles I wouldn't normally read as well because I needed to pass the time. Some things I learned:

~ there are no abortion laws at all in Canada
~ there are 16,000 plus AWOL American soldiers since the war in Iraqi started
~ American soldiers can defect to Canada and appeal to their government for citizenship
~ why we never hear about Warren Buffett, and I only know about him now because he disowned his granddaughter
~ if you are an American guy in China, beware of "roofies"
~ this is more of an observation, Brit in her "movie" said she longed to go out again and have fun and be "normal"....in her Glamour article she says she's a home body and likes to stay home ????
~ that someone can actually live in the rainforests of Hawaii on $5k per year!
~ I really like Jennifer Aniston, even more with every article I read

On another note, after browsing Perez this past weekend, I really don't like him. He made some comments about Britney's New Year's resolution being to stop biting her nails (this is from the Glamour article) and he proceeded to make fun of her. My New Year's resolution is going to be to try and NOT read Perez! Huh!
