What a great weekend. Saturday afternoon Nik, Carlton a.k.a. Bil and I headed to Hampton Beach for the second stop on our summer concert series as we have named it. This time, The Black Crowes. Yes, this is Chris Robinson playing harmonica!
We arrived around dinner time, checked into the finest Best Western Motel in Seabrook with the sagging beds then headed to the beach. We parked the car, got out and realized what idiots we all were because we didn't bring sweatshirts. It was 58 degrees, windy, misty and freezing; a far cry from the 85 we left in Douglas! So our first stop was for cheesy matching Hampton Beach sweatshirts. Niki is sporting her hot pink zippie below and I opted for a dark green. Although she was mad she didn't go with the tie dye. Carlton tried to make her feel better by getting us matching tie dye Crowes t-shirts which we are packing for Lollapalooza! Ha!
Our next stop was food and beers at a bar on the ocean which we couldn't see because it was too foggy. The window seat made for good people watching though.
On the way to the concert we stopped at the ballroom arcade for photo ops and fortunes. I love the 2nd picture because Nik looks like she has 1 tooth! Nik's lucky color is white. Random?
So we then hit the concert, general admission standing room. We were pretty close to the side of the stage; this is a picture of the obnoxious guy in front of me who danced WORSE than Carlton!
Then the best thing that happened, well not for Carlton, some huge chick wanted to get some of Carlton and stuck her tongue in his ear! Oh yeah, you read that right! So maybe not the best thing but the funniest! OMG we were dying! The concert was great! They rocked the Casino Ballroom hard! They were so loud my equilibrium was off kilter by the end of the night! SO AWESOME! Out of the 3 times I've seen them this was by far the best.
Next stop for Bil and me is Indian Ranch and 3rd stop on the Concert Series is The Agents at OM and a sleepover in Narragansett! Stay tuned.....
