Weekend in Buffalo

This past weekend Bil and I took a road trip to Buffalo, NY to visit his parents and sister. We arrived Thursday night; the ride was uneventful...long and boring but no rain. We dropped Traci off in Canadaigua to meet Mitch and then headed to Buffal-ho.
Friday was sunny and hot in Buffalo; high 80's. It was my day off however, my phone started ringing right after I awoke and didn't stop until around 4 p.m. when we arrived at The Shores for dinner. I had a "fish fry" but the stubborn rebel that I am ordered "fish & chips". It was okay...cod instead of haddock (Constance Margaret would not have enjoyed it). This is a picture of the marina just off the parking lot of the restaurant.
I made Bil's parents pose for the camera!
On Saturday we woke up early and arrived at Taste of Buffalo downtown around 11 a.m. just before tickets went on sale.
Bil and Beth give the beer 2 thumbs up! (psstt...Beth is drinking NA, we didn't corrupt her this weekend. She hasn't recovered from our wedding! Ha!)

Bil gives thumbs down to the cheddar jalepeno corn bread. I concur. It was yucky!
Bil and I give 2 thumbs up to the beer! The therometer rose to around 90+ degrees. My frozen Sangria melted in about 5 minutes so I switched to good 'ole Blue Light.
On Saturday night we went to our favorite wing place in Buffalo, Duff's. It was raining so hard that I didn't get pictures. For the record, Wendell's is actually still better.
On Sunday we woke up early again to be in Penn Yan around 11ish to pick up Traci and Mitch.
Before we got on the thruway, we stopped at "the Rez" for smokes and gas. Yes it was raining so I stayed in the car.
So we arrive in Penn Yan on Sunday morning and the Amish are out and about. Here are a couple pictures, bad albeit but you get the drift...
Bil was driving too fast and it was pouring buckets...
After we got Traci and Mitch we stopped at 2 wineries, Keuka Springs where I discovered my favorite wine last summer when we were in town for Mitch's graduation; and Anthony Road, the winery that Mitch is bottling wine at this summer. We did tastings at both and discovered some new favorites. 13 bottles later.....LOL!

The trip home was horrendous; it rained the entire way. We stopped to eat in Herkimer at this place on the river we discovered quite a few years back on one of our trips home. Again, no photo because it was raining.
Stay tuned for our next road trip....which will also be a stop on the Nikster/Tracey Summer Concert series.
